Sacred Spaces and Places
Lake Duluti, a deep volcanic lake, has long been a sacred place for the Meru people and their ancestors and today, people come to the rocky cliffs around the lake to pray and make offerings. The lake is surrounded and protected by a forest reserve, home to a diversity of plants and animals.
Join us for a 3-hour guided walking safari of the tropical forest as we circle the lake, stopping to see where people worship, and watching for the playful blue monkeys, beautiful water birds, and the elusive monitor lizards. The walk ends at a local restaurant overlooking the lake where we’ll enjoy a picnic lunch and refreshing drinks.
