Even better than last time!

Johann F., France

For my second stay in Vijiji, I was even more satisfied than the last time I was there. First of all, you can enjoy a clean, warm swimming pool with towels available, and the lodge looks even more wonderful that it was in February when I first came! Flowers have grown and create a relaxed and romantic atmosphere! The staff is now bigger for your comfort, food is exceptionally fresh, as it comes direct from the lovely market just next to Vijiji, and all services are now perfectly running (low prices at the bar, laundry, kitchen, swimming pool, tours...). One of the best advantages of Vijiji is the fact that the staff can organize safaris and tours for really lower prices than other companies in Arusha. Amos, the owner, and Suma, the director, will use their precise knowledge of the region to find you the best price/quality safaris to Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru, Arusha town, Serengeti and Ngorongoro National Park. If you are looking for a convenient cosy lodge to enjoy the region, Vijiji is the place to be!

Super lodge in a beautiful place with great staff.

Maike A. B., The Netherlands

Last August I went to The Vijiji Center for 4 weeks as I wanted to combine my holidays with volunteer work. I chose this lodge because they are involved in an orphanage and a school. And I'm super glad I chose them. I've had a great time! The staff wants to help with everything. There is a guide to the orphanage to show you where you can volunteer. And you can book day trips or safaris that are very well organized. I also had a good time at the lodge itself. It has a nice location, a nice pool. And the food is tasty and varied. There is also regular live evening music. I can only say it's a top place and I would definitely go back if I go to Tanzania again.

A personal and authentic Tanzania experience facilitated by Vijiji.

D. Clarke, Vernon, Canada

We have just returned to Canada from time in Kenya and Tanzania, including 10 Days (Safari and local tours) hosted by Vijiji Center. Coming from Kenya, we were pleasantly surprised with the lush vegetation, moderate climate, good roads, and beautiful mountain scenery around Arusha.

A customized 7 day safari was organized by Vijiji to experience the best of local parks and wildlife, and included a walking safari, and visit with a Bushman's camp near Lake Eyasi. We were very fortunate to witness the beginnings of the great wildebeest migration in the Lake Ndutu area, and a little less lucky with an early arrival of seasonal rains! At times this made travel in the area quite challenging, but the skilled Vijiji driver Nicxon kept us moving! The remaining days were spent enjoying cultural tours in the local area, based at Vijiji, including an introduction to local agriculture, a primary school, and Maasai village. Managers Suma and Amos were excellent guides and hosts!

We found the accommodation at Vijiji very comfortable ("a home away from home"), the staff very friendly and accommodating, and the food very good. Compared with our more "commercial tour" in Kenya, we enjoyed a very personal, and authentic experience with Vijiji, sending us home with lifetime memories! The whole package of safari, tours and accommodation was very reasonably priced and great value compared to similar more commercial operations. We hope to return!

Hakuna Matata.

Rochelle K. Vancouver, Canada

Vijiji is a beautiful place to stay, with gorgeous views of nearby Mt. Meru. Only a short drive away from downtown Arusha, the location is both peaceful and convenient. The rooms are minimal but comfortable and the grounds are spacious, with badminton courts, a bar, and plenty of space to relax in the sun at the end of a long day. The staff at Vijiji went above and beyond to make our stay in Tanzania memorable, by guiding us on day trips to town and nearby markets, as well as longer excursions such as climbing Mt. Meru, camping at Lake Chala, and Safaris in Terengire and Serengeti National Parks. Overall, Vijiji provided a wonderful introduction to Tanzanian culture and the hakuna matata lifestyle.

Great service, nice outdoor green space and a pool.

Quintography, Victoria, Canada

I stayed here with my daughter before and after going on safari. It's hard to find a place to stay in Arusha that has a private outdoor space to enjoy. The grounds are very well kept and secure. The restaurant and bar have excellent service, the beer is cold and the food is very good. The rooms are top notch, new, spacious, with mosquito nets and WiFi. Our rooms were on either side of a separate bungalow, we had en-suite bathrooms and they were very clean and comfortable. I enjoyed a great nights sleep and it was nice and quiet.
